Research works from Sylvain Lefebvre, INRIA

Sylvain Lefebvre, Eurographics Young Researcher Award 2010 INRIA Nancy, shared with us during a scientific conference some of his work about 3D Printing.

Here is a 3D Printed moving object , a walking robot , legs are designed carefully so that when the robot is walking all the legs stay flat.

The body in black is printed in a single piece, a fully rotating part to make the legs mechanism. Inspiring for the Movin'3D competition :-)

With those examples, he developed an automatic way to modify the center of gravity of an object. It take the original 3D design and adapt its form to make it stands correctly. Carve and deform to make it stands.

It shows a new way to design, design from usages and constraints.
