My daughter wanted to build a car to race in the pinewood derby.  Not only did she want a car, she wanted a car that could win.  I turned to xDesign to design the perfect pinewood derby car to race.  After many different design iterations, I came up with the following design.

This design seemed to be one of the best.  It created a lightweight car with mass added to the all-important location for the greatest amount of potential energy.  The car would run fine without paint, but that is the fun part.  We decide to model the paint scheme after the famous Porsche 917 “Pink Pig” Le Mans racecar.     

Unfortunately, we were unable to create this paint scheme on our pinewood derby car due to time constraints. We were able to complete the build and paint the car.  It did very well at our local pinewood derby.
