"Every long journey starts with a first step", well this is the goal of this video series : show what the first steps in SOLIDWORKS for Makers could look like, and more in particular with xDesign.
If you don't know where to start, these short videos will help you crawl before you run.
Simple features, but real results, you will find how to make your own designs, more and more complex over time.
I took examples of simple tools for your DIY projects, designed with xDesign and 3D printed, but if you are a wood worker, it could be applied too ! When some extra hardware is needed (bolts and screws for example) list is provided in the video.
If you have some tools/ideas you don't know how to design, please let me know and I will add them to the list of future projects !
Let's start with a very simple one, a square ruler, next a shim set will come, then a contour gauge and a corner vise (if I can make a strong enough one with 3D printing :) )
