MQTT, WiFi switches, RF433 - anyone?

Hello everyone

I was wondering whether there were among us people who are working on their own home automation (or general automation) projects.

I am thinking about WiFi or RF433 switches (Sonoff for instance) connected to a MQTT bus and their usage (lights & associated scenarios, maybe something with sensors?). This is really an open question to first gauge whether there is presence for such projects.

After trying out HomeAssistant, NodeRed and similar, I ended up coding my own system which si more versatile and flexible. It powers a few lights at home , as well as the background of a home made dashboard (goes to dark mode at night, with some ambiance lights on until midnight or so).

I would be glad to exchange ideas and pitfalls, possibly around a coffee to start with?
