Hey everyone! Welcome back to the design phase of my son’s bedroom project! It is time to bring my concept sketches to life by creating a virtual twin. These 3D models will be the blueprints for the custom furniture I create in my next video.

I've heard that Home By Me is perfect for finding inspiration and laying out home furniture and décor. So, since this makeover is essentially an interior design project, I thought it was the perfect time to give it a shot. By using Home By Me, we can visualize the entire project before making any final decisions. I have wanted to give this a test drive for a while, now is my chance!
I kicked things off by launching a new project and entering my son’s bedroom dimensions. I was thrilled with how fast I was able to create a replica of his room.
After adding windows and doors in their proper locations, the fun really began. I started browsing the vast database and placing items in his room.
Since I'm familiar with SOLIDWORKS, I used it to design the shelf system that will go over Maxton’s bed. This design was straightforward—I wanted plenty of shelves and storage for all his stuff. Making furniture is new to me, especially creating drawers, but I think I can figure them out. They’re just boxes with slide rails, right? How hard could it be?
After this was completed I started modeling up the shelves, I then uploaded all the parts into my Home By Me scene. From there, I added more detail, importing my own parts and filling the room with Maxton’s stuff. I added toys and found some books to fill up those custom shelves.
After I got Maxton's room dialed in just the way I wanted, I generated a few realistic images. These are processed and then stored in an area called My Images. I got notified by email once they were completed. This whole process was super easy and I was shocked at how well the lighting turned out, everything had a realistic feel to it.
The next task is to get all these designs approved by Maxton! I have went through hundreds of approval processes with my clients but this one hits a little heavier than normal. My goal with this design is to provide Maxton with a highly functioning room and then let him put his own style to everything. Once I get him to sign off on this I am off to the races!
Special Shout out to @CL and @S for recommending Home By Me!
Stay tuned,
