Dear Makers, woodworking Friend,
Following my previous post and to match my Dining Table: https://r1132100503382-eu1-3dswym.3dexperience.3ds.com/#community:17/post:8spQ9J9hREipbitgSmNW4Q
Design
I came up with an Entryway Bench also made from Mahogany:
I decided to "Leanearize" the Design a little bit by dropping the sides (it looked like a little too much for me).
Here is the final product at its final location :-)
Build
Started from rough lumber, and created a template for the sides:
Turned the Arm Rests on my lathe and put each side together with dowels and glue:PS: I have never used a Lathe before and a massive piece of Wood flying off the Lathe is not a good experience. The 1st piece came loose, flew out of the Lathe onto my Face, and bounced back on my right arm. Luckily, I was wearing a full face mask. The mask flew off my head and I had a bruise on my Arm for about a Month. So wear your PPEs!
Assembling the part of the frame (there are re-enforcement on each corners that are not shown here):
End Result
Here it is: the end result in my house.
If you'd like to see more I also have a desk I made for my office (out of Mahogany for a change) and my next project will be a bookshelf (Mahogany also. It will be the last one because I am running out :-)
