Well, a toy cannon. The cannon was modeled using xDesign.
The first step in creating the toy cannon was to CNC all of the wood components. First, the cannon sides were cut from one-quarter inch cherry wood. Next, the wheels were cut form three-eighths inch cherry. Wood dowels were used as the axis for the wheels as well as the cannon support structure.
Here is the rough assemble of the toy cannon
Manufacturing the barrel of the cannon is the next steps. The first thought was to CNC out of a block of aluminum. After some thought cannon barrels were originally made by casting. So, casting the cannon barrel it is! Only issue is how to do the casting process. Sand casting is what I am thinking of doing (the barrel was 3D printed). Any suggestions (would love to hear ideas)?
