Inventing the Pie Server Multi-Tool using xDesign!

Today we're celebrating St. Patrick's Day with an Irish Apple Cake and earlier this week we celebrated Pi Day with a wide variety of pies! Last week, as we anticipated a week of deliciousness, we thought "what better time than now to reimagine the humble pie/cake server?"

We brainstormed a bunch of ideas for how to improve this basic utensil and then used xDesign to design the final shape.

We used SendCutSend to produce the stainless steel part. It was a totally amazing experience, and one I recommend trying if you live in the US or Canada and have a metal part you need for a project!

Then we used traditional woodworking techniques to fabricate the mahogany handle.

After applying a few coats of butcher block oil, we put the new design to the test making and serving a pecan and an apple pie!

Check out the full episode to see how the design and make came together, and how this new multi-tool can mark, crimp, cut, and serve your favorite slice of pie!
