I like gears as a mechanical engineer 😉 and was willing to update my door handle, as they are very conventional, looking at door handle from providers, with original designs it could be soon be very costly...
I decided to design it to 3D Print, it took me 5 minutes during my vacations :
1 minute to Access Part catalog and search for "Gears"
Then choose the best shape, and the right diameter , in my case 40 mm.
1 minute to open your favorite Solidworks XDesign, the easy web based app for designer and import the Gear part you selected :
3 minutes to make your design according to your door specifications :
- Here a square cut of 7 mm
- a fillet to smooth the grip,
- a very small hole to fix the handle...
on an iPad, its pretty strait forward, that's it !
Et voila, in 3D !
+ 2 hours after for Fab part, thanks @CC for 3Dprinting on a Ultimaker l 🤩
Here is the result ! This is really only for geeks 😉
