Gandhi Jayanti Special - Charkha Design using xApps

Hello all,

Today is Gandhi Jayanti, a special day celebrated in India to honor the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. This celebration happens every year on October 2nd and is one of India's three national holidays.

Since today is Gandhi Jayanti, I created a design of the Charkha using xApps and SOLIDWORKS. I designed all the wooden parts and put them together using the xDesign app. To make the ropes, I used SOLIDWORKS and employed 3D sketch and sweep features. For the final rendering, I used the xStudio app.

What is a Charkha (spinning wheel)?

The "charkha" is a traditional spinning wheel with significant historical and cultural importance in India. It's a simple, hand-operated device for spinning cotton or other fibers into yarn or thread. Mahatma Gandhi promoted the use of the charkha during India's struggle for independence as a symbol of self-sufficiency and economic empowerment for rural communities.
