🚀 Episode 4: Designing Hard Drive Drawers for a Custom NAS Case
In this latest episode of our design series, we tackle one of the most critical components of a NAS: the hard drive drawers!
Using SOLIDWORKS xDesign, I focused on creating a solution that is:
✔️ Secure: Hard drives stay firmly in place.
✔️ Accessible: Easy to remove and replace drives when needed.
✔️ Efficient: Proper cooling with strategic air vents and optimized structure.
This project highlights advanced design techniques like thin extrusions, interlocking features, and linear patterns, all leading to a functional and 3D-printable result. 🖨️
🔧 After testing, I’m already thinking about improvements for the next episode, where I’ll reinforce the design and integrate motherboard supports.
