@CO and I have just started on a new project that will feature pixel art, so I've been dreaming in pixels lately :) Pixel art, of course, is just one of the many forms of a mosaic, and for me there's just something about a mosaic that makes me smile - no matter what material it's made of.
Our experimentation this week started with a fun and FREE technique that anyone can use to make pixel art. We used the Shape It app in SOLIDWORKS Apps for Kids to build a simple 16 x 16 grid.
Then we used the Style It app to color in the individual pixels and bring our art to life.
When the art is complete, you can open it in the Print It app and either print it in color on a piece of paper, or generate a color-by-number sheet for you or a friend to color in!
This is just one of the many pieces of retro video game pixel art we're creating for a bigger project we're excited to share with all of you in the coming weeks!
