Hi all,
AEC is hosting an event in Paris this June. As part of it, we want to run a workshop and develop an exhibition stand that could be used as part of an event 'people-attractor' for conferences generally. We've been batting around ideas but time is running out. It would be great to have some outside Maker thoughts.
If you can help with the concept, we can help with the Visual Scripting / Coding / Prototyping.
Use it to run your own workshops!
Ideally, while this could be made of something locally made so it could be recreated at an event whatever the location for minimal cost using recycled or disposable material. For this particular event, we'll be using the Velizy FabLab so we'll have a bit more staying power (steel/wood).
The Brief:
- Needs to be awesome
- Should be made of laser cut, folded or flat material that can be assembled in a day (less ideally).
- Can have 3D printed/standard connections elements that are made locally or transported by a presenter.
- Needs to be parametric--depending on material availability, scale, etc. the thickness of the material can change
- Should show off geometric and precision of our tools.
- Approximate Dimensions: 1m diameter, 1.5m tall
Ideas to date:
Curved folded elements
Wine box interlocking sheets
- Previous workshop installation that inspired this: see post below
