Cobotic for large scale 3D printing Part1

Hello, I am Jennifer and I am a student at the third year of ENSEA (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l'Electronique et de ses Applications; Department 95 in France) - Electronic Engineering specialization school. My project is about 3D printing.

I am working on two Scara Arm 3D Printers. Those printers have a printing area of 200*200*150 mm and printing speed of 100 mm/s.

What is the project about?

Currently, 3D printing is limited by the printing area and the speed of printing. In fact, for an average budget of 3000 euros, we can have a build volume of 223*223*305 mm and a travel speed of 300 mm/s. We can find taller 3D printer but it is very expensive and we always have only one printing head. Because of that, the printer is limited by the speed of printing of the only head.

So why do we not combine two 3D printers in order to make them collaborate to get faster and bigger 3D printing?

It is a long-range project, indeed, we could imagine this with IA with several combined arm printers with IA fixed on wheels. That's why the main objective is to obtain a prototype for demonstrations with 2 arm printers to demonstrate feasibility of this project.
