A little over a year ago we found out that our Corgi (Ash) has Degenerative Myelopathy (DM). We describe it as ALS for dogs, because it attacks the body in the same way. Ash began losing strength in his rear legs in early 2020. Due to Covid, we weren’t able to get him in to see a specialist at Iowa State until September 2020. This is when we started to look at getting him into a wheelchair so that he could still be mobile and enjoy the great outdoors. Ash LOVES the snow more than any other dog that I have ever seen, but his wheelchair does not get around in the snow very well. This was when I decided that I needed to make something so that we could quickly attach skis to his wheelchair so that he could continue to enjoy the snow. I cut down an old pair of cross country skis, 3D printed some parts, bolted everything together, and turned him loose in the snow. He is a very, very happy little guy once again!

p.s. I have attached .stl files for the components of the skis for 3D printing.
p.p.s. The pink one was the prototype to verify form/fit/function, the white one is the final version.
