A case for my Japanese knife

My project was to create a case for a Japanese kitchen knife in Damascus steel that I received as a gift.
It was in a box but it did not have a sheath and its sharpness makes it a dangerous but also fragile object.
After discussing with @SR, we quickly took the option of plywood for its low thickness and the ease of laser cutting.
Indeed, starting from a simple photocopy of the blade, we were able to easily create its outline and therefore the one that the protective case would have.
To improve the aesthetics, I added a kenji meaning "Banquet" on one side and a Koi Carp on the other, which has the advantage of keeping the Japanese side of the object.
To hold the blade, simple silicone pads in staggered rows allow a good blocking of the blade without requiring too much work.
I would therefore like to thank Sébastien greatly for his help as well as the entire team at the FabLab in Vélizy.
