3D Printed, Scalable R/C Aerobatic Giant - Design, Build, and Flight Video

I’ve wrapped up a design, build, and test flight video for my latest 3D printable R/C aircraft design. It’s a popular sport aerobatic airplane from the 90’s called the Stinger. I designed this to be scaled up or down so the user can print it in three different sizes with one file set: 40”, 60”, and 80” wingspan versions. I'm happy to say the test flights went well, except for crashing the large version due to a radio brownout, doh!!

The 80” version is pretty impressive. It has a huge wing and weighed in around 6800g, giving it a pretty light wing loading. I already have all of the parts reprinted so looking forward to getting back in the sky with that one.

All of these are 3D printed primarily from a lightweight, foaming PLA, with more rigid PLA or PETG used for strategic parts that need extra strength.
