Hello-
I have been making some mathematically generated 3D sculptures using BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot and various rendering tools. Among the many families of forms generated are several reminiscent of the small 'monsters of the sea' that can be found in the tide pools of San Diego. I think an exciting mobile could be constructed from a set of these.
Each of the images below is a rendering of one 3D model constructd with sequential transformations of a cube. Each of the eight arms or tentacles was originally a corner of the cube which has been elongated and twisted by the coordinate transformation operations.
Unfortunately, these shapes seem difficult to print, but I am hopeful that the Fab Lab experts in Velizy will be able to help me.
