My grandsons love RC cars and trucks. So I asked myself, "Can I design and 3D print a truck body?" Turns out you can! I took a few pictures of one of their trucks, imported the images into xShape and created the body. We made sure the scale and size was correct, and that the holes for the attachment points to the chassis were exactly where they needed to be. Of course, we made changes along the way and ended up printing 3 bodies with different features. The result was a lot of fun and transferring design and manufacturing knowledge to the next generation. It was awesome to hear the boys ask questions like "What if we added Baja styling, and a removable bed and spoilers?" Then return to the design process and make it happen! The 3D Print function in xShape is fantastic! Here are some pictures of the build and a short video of the cars in action.
