In association with the Canadian Institute of Mining (CIM), we bring to you the highly anticipated and informative webinar on Implicit Geology Modelling!
General Information:
- Date: 27th March, 2024
- Time: 11 AM EDT
- Registration Link: HERE
- Duration: 1 Hour
- Topic: Fostering Cooperation and Efficiency through Implicit Geology Modeling - A GEOVIA Collaborative Approach
- Abstract: In today's mining industry, contemporary challenges spanning operational issues like resource depletion, market volatility, rising input costs, to ESG concerns are prevalent. A common challenge persists – data existing in isolated silos hindering effective sharing within organizations. This data significantly influences exploration and mining operations, making it crucial to address these silos. A possible game-changing key lies in the efficient capture and management of geoscience data throughout the mining value chain.
Taking geology operations and modelling as an illustrative example, we’ll demonstrate that adopting enhanced workflows to tackle challenges in data discovery, accessibility, and sharing yields substantial benefits.
With collaborative tools integrated into workflows we’ll demonstrate:
- Automation accelerates data consumption and the implicit geological modeling process.
- Consistent, 3D geological models are generated based on geoscientific best practices.
- Data interrogation and scenario analysis can efficiently test geological hypotheses.
By incorporating collaboration tools into the geology modelling workflow, the mining industry can enhance decision support, expedite processes, and generate accurate, robust, and consistent geology models.
Meet the Presenters:
🦸♂️ Garrett KRAMER, GEOVIA Technical Executive
@GK is an applied geoscientist and business development professional with a multi-disciplinary background in geology and geophysical methods across the natural resource industries. His primary focus lies in advocating for innovative technologies to enhance and streamline workflows within the mining industry. In the initial stages of his career, he engaged in geoscience research at US government laboratories and gained extensive international exposure through client-facing positions with leading service providers across Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas. He’s a dual AUS-US citizen and holds a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Minnesota and an M.Sc. in Geophysics from New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology.
🦸♂️ Paul ABONGWA, GEOVIA Industry Process Consultant
@PA is a senior geoscientist; he is an experienced specialist in Economic Geology with 18+ years within the Mining and Metals industry. A versatile geoscientist with a broad commodity background, including all aspects of empirical and process exploration and production approaches. Paul has led both Greenfield and Brownfield exploration projects on four different continents. He has been involved in all stages of a mining project from exploration and development to production, and has led JV projects on deposit evaluation on mergers and acquisitions.
Who should attend and why?
The end products (Geology Models) of Mineral Exploration and Geology Operations Processes are used in driving financial and engineering decisions. All the respective stakeholders share the same concern of ensuring the geology models are accountable and accurate. The 3DEXPERIENCE platform provides an environment for collaborative and informed decision-making in real-time, and with a single source of truth at all solution levels.
The webinar is intended, but not restricted to the following:
- Mineral Exploration Management Team
- Mine Management Team
- Geologists
- Mine Engineers
- Mine Planners
- Geotechnical Engineers
- Mine Operations Supervisors
- Staff and students in the faculties of Earth Sciences and Mine Engineering
- Government officials with the Departments of Energy and Natural Resources
There will be a live Q&A session after the presentation, and you are welcome to post questions for our presenters. This webinar is FREE for all to attend.
