💻 Webinar Replay: Maximise Mine Profitability with a Safe, Sustainable and Flexible Design Strategy | International Mining

Did you miss the webinar on Maximise Mine Profitability with a Safe, Sustainable and Flexible Design Strategy, hosted by GEOVIA and International Mining? If yes, here is the webinar replay!

What is it About?

GEOVIA, the mining flagship brand of Dassault Systèmes, provides end-to-end virtual twin experiences focusing on the intersection of natural resources, infrastructure and urban planning. In a mining context, these solutions facilitate smooth collaboration, streamlined data exchange and enhanced workflow efficiency, empowering companies to make well-informed decisions, elevate operational performance and achieve operational and sustainability objectives.

When it comes to strategic mine planning and design, the GEOVIA solutions portfolio provides mine planners at head office or site with the tools they need to create the most economically feasible, sustainable and robust mine plans for surface and underground mines.

During this one-hour webinar, hosted by International Mining, GEOVIA experts will outline the challenges strategic mine planners currently face, the host of options they can choose to overcome these on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and what functionality may be at their disposal in the future.

Planners looking to understand how geological models can be converted into mine plans that reflect the complexities, strategic constraints and KPIs of individual operators. These same operators will see a demonstration of how GEOVIA’s robust and flexible parametric design tool turns these plans into practical mine designs that respect the specific geology of the deposit in question, as well as external influences, such as commodity prices.

Q&A Session:

Meet the Presenters:

Glenn BARLOW - GEOVIA Industry Process Expert Director

Glenn is a Senior Geologist with more than 16 years of experience in the mining industry, covering metalliferous deposits, coal, and other stratified resources as well as industrial minerals, both surface and underground. Glenn’s extensive experience and knowledge have enabled him to assist and mentor clients across the globe using a range of GEOVIA software packages. Glenn’s capability within GEOVIA software, coupled with his in-depth knowledge of a range of commodities, enables him to customize training and mentoring sessions to suit the needs of the client and their resource. He has assisted and undertaken a range of projects from database auditing to resource estimations and grade control programs. He has also assisted in LOM schedules and optimizations and undertaken long-term client secondments. Due to the specific and unique challenges that face mining companies, Glenn has provided plans and outlines for successful implementations of GEOVIA software. He has advised on how to best streamline current operations and implement industry best practice procedures. In many cases, Glenn is able to script automated solutions.

Richard GAWTHORPE - Industry Process Specialist

Richard is a Mining Engineer with more than 35 years’ of experience in the global mining industry and has had exposure to a wide range of mineral deposits and operational mining sites throughout the world. Richard has been involved in the disciplines of open pit optimization, design, and scheduling since 1991 and has had exposure to feasibility studies, third-party reviews, and LOM strategic plans. Richard’s extensive experience in the arena of strategic mine planning, in both the project and operational areas, enables him to provide a detailed insight into the current requirements of the mining industry.

About International Mining:

International Mining (IM) is a global publication covering mining and minerals processing technology, methods, equipment and services. Read principally by the mining industry itself, it helps extractive operations, both surface and underground, keep abreast of the latest innovations and solutions to help them lower costs, increase performance and availability, enhance safety and of course maximise production. This includes everything from better maintenance and site audits, through to autonomy and digitalisation. From juniors through to the largest mining groups with multiple locations, mine managers know they can rely on IM to keep them in the know.
