💻 Webinar Replay: Fostering Cooperation & Efficiency Through Implicit Geology Modelling | Canadian Institute of Mining (CIM)

Did you miss the webinar on Fostering Cooperation and Efficiency through Implicit Geology Modeling - A GEOVIA Collaborative Approach, hosted by GEOVIA and the Canadian Institute of Mining (CIM)? If yes, here is the webinar replay and the answers to the questions our presenters couldn't address during the session due to time constraints.

Questions & Answers by @PA :

Is it possible to get access to modeling only? Or does the company have to implement the platform first?

Yes, you can get access to just the Geology Modeler (GML) Role, but on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, since this is a solution on the cloud. The 3DEXPERIENCE platform comes with the required base role (Collaborative Business and Industry Innovator Role (PCS), 3DSwymer (IFW), Collaborative Industry Innovator (CSV), Earth Engineering Coordinator Role (ETC), Geoscience Referential Manager (GRM), Geology Modeler (GML))

Can I rent your modeling solutions for a short period, on a separate project?

Yes

Is the geostatistics tool built into the cloud or do I need to use parameters from other products?

The Geology Modeler (GML) is on the cloud. There is a separate Geostatistics Role being developed, and it will be on the cloud as well.

How do you capture the data from exploration? Manually and translate to GEOVIA or do you have a mobile app used on-site?

The data capture process depends on what the standard practice of the exploration company and site is. The data can then be imported onto the GEOVIA platform either via CSVs or an API.

Do your data treatment integrate geostatic tools?

No

Can we import the geological model made in another software?

Yes

May I know how to collect the data into the system?

The data can be imported onto the GEOVIA platform either via Text, CSVs or an API.

What are the major important parameters in the data collection?

The important data collection parameters will depend broadly on the company and site. However, to be able to import and display the data using the GEOVIA Geology Modeler  (GML), you will need to capture at least, the following attributes and measurements:
• Collar: Hole_ID, X, Y, Z, Depth
• Survey: Hole_ID, Dip, Az, Depth
• Assay: Hole_ID, From, To, metal content (e.g. Au, Ag, Cu, Zn, ...etc.)
• Geology: Hole_ID, From, To, Lithology,...etc.
• Structure: Hole_ID, Depth, Dip, and Dip direction, structure name

How accurate this Modelling compared to real world?

Accurate within best practice. E.g. Intervals are 100% accurate.

The collaborative platform demands a different workflow within technical teams. Can you comment on your experience related to change management required to implement a collaboration tool like this?

It needs to be driven by the site managerial solution level as monitoring and control.

How effectively does the data work if we want to export the data to Surpac?

Relatively straightforward and very effective.

Does it require a good internet speed to work?

Require a live internet connection. Our Cloud Eligibility tool is the easiest and quickest way to check the compatibility of your environment with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform on the Cloud. https://www.3ds.com/support/cloud/eligibility

I work using a standard home internet package and the app works very well.

Is there only the implicit modeling available with Dassault Systèmes or other tools like geostatistical, block modeling features are also in place?

Other Cloud-based Resources modeling tools are within our roadmap as well, but not immediately available.

So GEOVIA has completely dropped the explicit modeling for the implicit modeling?

No, not the present situation.
