Introduction:
As Mark Zuckerberg once said: “The biggest risk is not taking any risk”
Risk management is the process of identifying, analyzing, and responding to risk factors throughout the life of a project and in the best interests of its objectives.
Successful project managers recognize that risk management is important, because it allows them to plan for uncertain events in a proactive manner and to be ready to respond if they occur.
Risks in Project Planner:
ENOVIA R2021xFD04 release introduced a new 3DDashboard application called ‘Risk Management’, which allows you to capture, track, and manage project risks from identification to resolution.
Three mandatory conditions must be met to be able to manage risks in the context of a project in ‘Project Planning’ application:
- The project must be of type ‘Enterprise Project’.
In ‘Project Planning’ application, you can create a project of type ‘Enterprise Project’.
‘Enterprise Project’ allows you to create complex projects and includes, among other things, the ability to create, manage, and track risks associated with that project. - You must be assigned one of two roles to have access to the ‘Risk Management’ application: - ‘Project Manager’ (DPM) and / or ‘Risk Manager’ (RSK).
When condition #1 and #2 are met, Risks Tab becomes available in the 'Project Planning' application for a selected project - You must be a Project Owner or a Project Leader with Leader access to the Collaborative Space, to create Risks in 'Project Planning' app.
When condition #3 is also met, then you can also create a Risk associated with the project in ‘Project Planning’ application
You can learn more about 'Risk Management' application by reviewing the ‘Introduction to Risk Manager Role (RSK)’ post published in the ENOVIA User Community:
