Did you know that you could revise or create a new branch a part/drawing and also release it in the same Change Action (CA)?
In order to do this, you will have to add the part/drawing when the CA is still in "Draft" state and set the Change to "Revise" or "New Branch" under Edit Proposed Change.
When you move the CA to "In Work" state it will have already created a new revision or new branch and will be automatically set to "Release" once the CA is approved. You can also obsolete the previous revision if you want to by adding it under proposed changes.
One thing to note is that the new revision gets captured under "Realized Changes" so be sure that you really want the new revision to be created.
If you moved the CA to "In Work" but no longer want a new revision, no worries! You can ignore the realized changes and then delete the revision using lifecycle app.
