In 2021xFD04, a new option to "Discover Suggested Alternates" is available during the association of the Alternates. The goal is to maximize IP reuse. The option provides suggestions to use existing alternate(s) of Engineering Items as alternate(s) to the primary (selected) Engineering Item.

From the primary Engineering Item, the system can reach out to the following (user selectable) sources to gather the existing alternates: Its Revisions, Branches, Duplicates, Other Usages, and Alternates of Alternate. Most of the sources are self explanatory; however, please refer to the attached image for an example of "Other Usages" and "Alternates Of Alternate".
