Introduction
Workforce Manager (XWO-OC) is a cloud role that we first introduced in R2023x FD01.
The 'Workforce Manager' Role lets you create, customize, and manage workforce referential ontologies that you can deploy across your organization.
The aim of this role is to have a consistent definition of all business roles and skills of everyone in the company to apply people to their full potential.
This post describes the steps you need to setup the Workforce Management application:
Step 1 - Synchronize users.
What: In this step, the Workforce Management application performs a user synchronization to populate the application with users from your organization.
How: To perform this synchronization, you need to launch 'Workforce Management' application for the first time, as a user with platform administrator permissions that has XWO-OC (Workforce Manager) license.
Step 2 - Assign 'Workforce Referential Engineer' permission
What: 'Workforce Referential Engineer' permission allows you to generate and deploy Workforce Referential.
How: To assign the 'Workforce Referential Engineer' permission, you need to launch the 'Workforce Management Control Center' as a user with platform administrator permission that has XWO-OC (Workforce Manager) license.
As a result of this assignment, the following menus become available to you on the 'Workforce Management' application home page:
- 'Engineer Referential' – allows you to create a custom workforce referential.
- 'Deploy and Configure' – allows you to deploy the workforce referential file.
Step 3 - Assign 'Workforce Organizer' permission

How: Similar to the previous step, to assign the 'Workforce Organizer' permission, you need to launch the 'Workforce Management Control Center' as a user with platform administrator permission that has XWO-OC (Workforce Manager) license.
As a result of this assignment, the ''Assign Business Role Manager' ' menu becomes available to you on the 'Workforce Management' application home page.
Step 4 - Assign a 'Business Role Manager'
What: Business Manager permission allows you to assign ontology-based business roles to people in the organization.
How: To assign the 'Business Role Manager', you need to launch the 'Assign Business Role Manager' option as a 'Workforce Organizer' from the 'Workforce Management' home page.
As a result of this step, you can use the 'Assign Business Roles' page to assign ontology-based business roles to the people in the organization.
Now you have everything you need to start working with 'Workforce Management' application.
