Problem: DraftSight graphics area becomes unresponsive.

Unfortunately there was a problem when using DraftSight 2019 sp2 and earlier with some graphics cards that caused the graphics area to become unresponsive when the mouse moves over the drawing. The problem has been fixed in 2019sp3. 

To stop the problem happening in DraftSight 2019sp2, there are two workarounds that should help: 

Enable the DraftSight option: Use Dashed Entity Selection Highlighting

  1. Start DraftSight
  2. Select Tools > Options > Systems Options > Display > Element Colors
  3. Enable the option : Use Dashed Entity Selection Highlighting
  4. Click Apply
  5. Exit and restart DraftSight

Use compatibility mode:

  1. Right click on the DraftSight shortcut on the Windows Desktop.
  2. Select 'Properties'.
  3. Select the tab called 'Compatibility'.
  4. Select the check box 'Run this program in Compatibility mode for:' and select 'Windows 7' from the list.
  5. Click OK
  6. Use the shortcut to start DraftSight.
