As we know, when we insert Image in the drawing using command: AttachImage, the link with the image file needs to be always maintained with it. This means, if you are sending the drawing to anyone, you are also required to send the image file.
However, it is not always possible to provide image file separately with the drawing. Mainly, it becomes difficult when the logo in the drawing is an image and needs to be associated with each drawing file.
The above difficulty can be avoided by inserting image in the drawing in such a way that it does not require the reference.
In order to achieve this, the following procedure can be used:
1.Open the required image file in Microsoft Paint application.
2.Select the Image and copy it from Home > Copy or Ctrl+C.
3.Start DraftSight.
4.Go to Insert > Object.
5.Select 'Create New' option.
6.Select 'Paintbrush Picture' from the list.
- Clicking Ok opens Microsoft Paint application.
- Paste the copied image from Home > Paste or Ctrl+V.
This will place the Image in the drawing.
You can confirm that it is not placed as a reference by:
1.Type command: References
2.Notice that the image file is not listed.
