Two new functionalities are available in the DELMIA Turning Machining (TUM) product since the V6R2012 allowing you to create automatically 2 Rough Turning operations on the Upper & Lower turrets of the machine that will work together thanks tool path synchronizations. These synchronizations between each tool path are created directly by the software to respect the following strategies :
- Balance Turning : The two tools mounted on the upper and lower turret are removing material on the same diameter of the part. The 2 main advantages of this option are to cut material at faster feedrate and also to avoid most of the vibration
- Follow Turning : In this case the upper & lower turrets are removing material on different diameter of the part, the second turret starting with a delay according the first one.
These new functionalies are a nice added value against the competition and also CATIA V5 Machining solution. Our R&D Lab has worked with some customers on this enhancement to take benefits of their experience on these technics already in production.
