The new "Ergonomics Workplace Design" role on the platform allows to quickly check and validate the position of tooling and the posture of the operator when working on a production line.
It is very powerful but, for the moment, it doesn't cover specific posture (for example when the operator has to get on his knee to perform a specific task). Keep in my mind that the legacy roles (with Ergonomics at Work) are complementary and will help you with such situation.
I would like to share with you an example where a manufacturing uses ergonomics application to validate a maintenance activity.
With the following video, I am using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to highlight potential risk for the operator when performing a maintenance task. The risk is usually assessed through an effort and a postural analysis. Then, I am using 3D simulation to find a better way to perform the same task using dedicated tooling.
