You're home office and your boss is not watching over your shoulder?
While it might be tempting to start watching a new TV series, what about learning CATIA Product Perception Experience ("PPX" for those in the know), this new app released in R2019x? Here are 3 videos to get you started.
1. How to create variants
The 1st one goes through the authoring basics of creating Product and Viewpoint variants in order to present a design project and explore its alternatives.:
2. How to take decisions. And remember it.
This 2nd video focuses on decision-making functionality:
- Side-by-side comparison, using the cross-app command Link Dynamic Cameras
- Validation options, to approve or reject a variant, or simply set it as favorite
On the way it shows how to:
- Copy/paste a variant line from one panel to another
- Make the variant panels smaller
- Change the timing of the animations
3. How to present concepts of product animation
The 3rd video focuses on presenting design animation concepts, eg. a butterfly door opening, by:
- Creating Position variants
- Defining new pivot axis system
- Setting object as trigger to activate variants and start the animations
The goal of such features is for a creative designer to create several animation concepts in a couple of hours, which, even if not physically correct, still look good enough for an audience to get the idea and decide for the most relevant alternatives.
I hope this first series of videos is useful for some of you. Your feedback can only but help me creating the next one!
