Wonderland, Lancôme presents 3D

As of October 17, Lancôme exhibit at Sephora Champs-Elysées, the brand will offer an immersive experience in 3D thanks to the Kinect.

After a walk in Paris reinvented, consumers will be invited to the Lancôme House where they can enjoy  7 fantastic experiences. They will penetrates through a magical garden to see extravagant sculptures, discover the treasures of Lancôme and have a backstage tour of a movie to meet ambassadors icons. Over 18 months of work and nearly 60 people have been required to give life to this show orchestrated by DigitasLBi France.

There’s no doubt that photo-sharing is hot, but among the hundreds of services out there tackling the space, there hasn’t been an app that has made a splash in photo-sharing in this post-Instagram world. Well, now there is Studio Design App. It is the first social design platform that lets you browse and use designs from other users. If you see a design you love just tap the ‘reuse’ button and make it your own.

MySetta, New Styling with Clever BASF Technologies 

Once named the “bubble car”, the Isetta turns heads wherever it goes. It gets people’s creative juices flowing, and not just for thinking up nicknames. BASF has created a unique “MySetta” show car based on a 1958 BMW Isetta 250.

 3D-Printed Mycelium Chair Sprouts Living Mushrooms

Dutch designer Eric Klarenbeek’s new Mycelium Chair is an amazing mushroom-sprouting seat that fuses organic materials with modern 3D printing technology. Working with the University of Aachen, Klarenbeek developed a way to 3D print with living cells instead of plastic or metal. The sculptural fungus chair is sowed with mushroom spores that flourish over time, creating a new symbol of organic technology.

Turn Your Mobile Phone Into a Pen with Jackpen

Jackpen is a miniature ballpoint pen designed to fit neatly inside the headphone socket of your mobile – the audio jack, hence the name Jackpen. This clever little instrument conveniently stores securely within the socket cavity, visible only by a modest finger grip. When needed it can be pulled out and reinserted the opposite way (non-writing end) into the socket, nib ready – instantly turning your mobile phone into a pen.

Gerard Alcini, a community member made a nice post last week "LRE images of performance boat outdrives modeled in IMA".

He told me that he learnt IMA by watching some videos and slowing them down to see the mouse picks, it’s pretty much that simple.

He said about V6 IMA: It still allows designers to be creative but also adds collaborative communication with the processes downstream such as packaging, marketing, engineering, FEA, CFD, etc."

Unexpected Layers of Glass Added to Stones by Ramon Todo

Born in Tokyo, Dusseldorf-based artist Ramon Todo creates beautiful textural juxtapositions using layers of glass in unexpected places. Starting with various stones, volcanic rock, fragments of the Berlin wall, and even books, the artist inserts perfectly cut glass fragments that seem to slice through the object resulting in segments of translucence where you would least expect it.
