CATIA Training Experience | Darth Vader Helmet

The three-day training experience in dassault systemes made me get much from the NTS, IMA and LRE modules. To examine how skillful i was to the CATIA design, this Darth Vader Helmet was created.

As we all known that Darth Vader is one of the most charming characters in STAR WARS series. My design was based on the styling in movie episode three, mainly using the IMA module to finish the design job.

Firstly built the top cap and side shield, using sphere and cylinder combination and then resized them to fit the shape.

Secondly hid the cap and built the face mask, using different types of bodies and faces. Made full use of extrusion, face cutting and other functions to carve the details of goggles, mouth grille.

Steps dividing was the most important item in modeling. Adjusted the lines and nodes after decided the rough relationships between bodies and faces, which made it gradually and smoothly build up the shape without making changes over and over again in IMA module.

Input the model into LRE module. It was easy and helpful for new users to render a beautiful image.

Finished!

At last thank Miss Oriane LIEGE for inviting me to be an author in CATIA CREATIVE DESIGN to share my works.
