The 3DEXPERIENCE platform on Cloud is upgraded to the 3DEXPERIENCE R2022x FD03 level.
In line with this, the Cloud Eligibility Checker Tool is also improved across varied fronts. This new and updated version of the tool includes some new enhancements, bug fixes as well as a few improvements.
A brief summary of all the alterations done during this upgrade can be found below:
Enhancements:
A couple of enhancements that will help automate the execution of the Cloud Eligibility Checker are promoted during this upgrade. These enhancements will make the tool capable enough to save the result in .csv format as well as be executed in silent mode without any user interaction. The detailed information regarding the same can be found below:
Output in the form of .csv file:
- The Cloud Eligibility Checker Tool is improved such that an output file (in the form of .csv file) will be generated each time it is executed
- This file will comprise of just 2 columns, viz. the Check and its respective Status. For the ease of processing and analyzing this file, the machine name and global status are also included in it
- You will be able to retrieve this file from %Temp%\\cloud directory
(C:\\Users\\<>\\AppData\\Local\\Temp\\cloud) - Note that this file will be generated in addition to the HTML report that gets displayed currently when the Cloud Eligibility Checker Tool is executed
Silent Execution:
- An additional capability that will enable the Cloud Eligibility Checker Tool to execute in silent mode is provided using the command-line option: -silent
This mode will ensure that the tool executes silently in the background. - Apparently, minimal user interactions will be required when the tool is launched with this option. Kindly note that the Terms and Conditions panel will be active for this mode. The user will have to manually intervene and accordingly accept\\reject the Terms and Conditions from the respective panel.
- To fully automate the behavior, we have introduced yet another command-line option:
-accept
This option will by default consider that the Terms and Conditions are accepted by the end-user and proceed further. - To conclude, no user interactions will be necessary once the tool is launched using both of these options
e.g. CloudEligibility.exe –silent –accept
Issue with Lenovo Models:
A few workstation models from the manufacturer “Lenovo” possess the same name as they have the same CPU. The Cloud Eligibility Checker Tool was unable to process such workstation models having similar names even when they belonged to the list of certified configurations
This has been taken care of in the current version of the Cloud Eligibility Checker.
Support Policy for Windows 10:
A few changes have been implied in the Support Policy for Windows 10 for the 3DEXPERIENCE platform On Cloud.
Currently, only two versions i.e. Windows 10 Version 21H1 and Windows 10 Version 20H2 are considered supported. The older version 1909 is no longer supported for the 3DEXPERIENCE platform On Cloud.
The Cloud Eligibility Checker Tool takes into consideration all these changes.
In addition to the above improvements, the usual changes pertaining to the Upgrade have also been done in the tool. To name a few, the list of certified workstations is updated and the support for browser versions is updated in the tool as per the current stable release. Along with this, the list of supported levels for 3DEXPERIENCE Open Software has been accordingly streamlined as per the newly introduced levels.
