Sharing Experience_BAJA Transmission-CVT Model

Hello Community Members and Students!! Greeting to everyone.

I am Aditya Kumar and I have always been passionate about innovation and product designing. I have been in CAD domain for more than 6+ years now and have designed hundreds of components till now using various CAD software's including SOLIDWORKS, CATIA V5 and xApps.

So, I would like to share my design with the community members and students and would like to help you out in the challenges which you might be facing with our latest most evolving applications of xApps.

The design for today would be Continuous Variable Transmission generally used in Student Automotive Competition for off-road vehicles under BAJA

Overview about BAJA and CVT

Baja SAE challenges engineering students to design and build an off-road vehicle that will survive the severe punishment of rough terrain and in some competitions, water. The most rugged of all the competitions, Baja SAE also gives students the first-hand challenge of pursuing their passion while managing real-life demands and priorities.

Here I am sharing one of the design of one of the most critical component of the Transmission System - Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT). Generally the teams prefer to attach a CVT to a constant mesh Gearbox to attain high torque with a variable speed on various rough terrain during the competitions.
