No matter what I do, I cannot seem to get my files to export as a catia file so I can use them in catia V5. I assume that is the only file type I can use for catia v5 because no matter what other file type I import into catia v5 with, they do not recognize the geometry for assemblies.
I am at a bit of a loss here. The original models were made in fusion and exported as a step file, I got them to work fine in 3d experience and even assemble in 3d experience. however when going to catia v5 everything breaks. I then thought it was just incompatibility between my base fusion files and catia v5, so I remade some of the models in 3d experience and then tried exporting them into catia v5 that way, but they still break. The only file type I am unable to attempt to try is the cat file, but for some reason when I go to export it as a cat file, I run into this unknown error and am unable to.
I have tried all the settings I could, and have not had a single successful export into cat file.
My instructor requires all my project submissions to be in cat files. However I cannot use catia v5 on my pc due to a conflict with the graphics card I have, so I purchased the student license for 3dexperience with my own money and have been trying to get it to be my solution for being able to do my coursework despite not being able to use catia v5 anytime other than in the classroom. I figured that since catia v5 and 3dexperience were made by the same company, that it would work fine, and it has all the export functions in it to theoretically work fine, but something is breaking and I have no idea why or where.
