Apps for Materials [Series- Getting Started with Materials | Part-4]

Material Definition App

Material Definition Native App can be launched from the Compass.

It lets you do the following:

  • Create core and covering materials and modify all their properties (Image1 & 2).
  • Add or modify material domains.
  • Duplicate Materials
  • Create and edit material vectors, to change an object's appearance quickly, modify the rendering domain of decals (Decals are stickers in simple words) that change the appearance of a region rather than the entire part or product. (You can define and apply decals to geometry from the Rendering Scene Design and Live Rendering apps.)
  • Material Definition App shows all the materials Open in the Session. This helps to quickly locate and edit any of the materials loaded in the session, from any product you are working on. (Image 3)

  • Pick a Material from a geometry it was applied on
  • Apply a material to a geometry
  • Duplicate existing materials
  • Delete applied materials

Material Palette- Material related operations are also available in the Tools Section of Simulation apps.

You can do the following:

  • Use the Material Palette to explore a material and its associated material domains, or to explore a material domain and its associated parent material.
  • View and Edit Simulation Domain Properties
