ME2300 UV-Clean Adapted Facemask for Babies

Working off an earlier design, our team created a smaller and simpler version of our facemask to be used with babies. Because of the small scale, we were able to keep the strength of the part high while print time was well under an hour. This design is also made to be adjustable to different infant head sizes. In addition to fitting different head sizes it also allows flexibility when it comes to the infant's head apparel. Newborns in the hospital are going to be wearing hats for warmth so the adjustability will both allowing the infants to stay warm while letting the hat add some additional padding for comfort.

The print time for a single unit with 10% infill on a LulzBot TAZ6 is about 51 minutes. To save even more time, the generous bed size of this printer, 280mm*280mm, was large enough to accommodate three of these masks on the same bed, saving time in transitions and those three can all be printed in under 2.5 hours. The layout we used for that can be found below. We also have included a zip file containing both the STL for printing and the Solidworks model.
