Hi, I recently began using DraftSight 2018 to produce some floor plans. I would like to export the completed drawings to PDF at 1/4"=1'0" scale so that they appear at that scale when printed or viewed digitally. I have been able to produce the drawings but can't get them to export to PDF at the desired scale.
Once I have produced the geometry in Model space (using architectural unit system - feet and inches), I enter Sheet space, double click the viewport (the only one) and select 1/4"=1'0" from the scale options below. This resizes the drawing in Sheet space such that it appears to be at the correct scale (it occupies the proportion of the white area that it would if the white area represented an 8.5"x11" piece of paper). I then select a larger size of paper in the Export to PDF options window (such as 17"x11" or 48"x36" - because the building is too large to be fully captured on 8.5"x11") and export the file. The result is a PDF in which the drawing has grown to occupy the same proportion of the large paper as it did the small one - that is, it is not appearing at 1/4"=1'0" scale.
My apologies for the lengthy problem description but I wanted to be clear. I have read much of the Help information and scanned user forums and can't find an answer (at least not one that makes sense to me as at a beginner level CAD user).
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
