When I open any of my drawings DraftSight crashes. I get an error dialog:

"DraftSight Alert. The program must close. Before the program closes, you can try to save changes in: [file path and file name] Any changes saved are those prior to the last command you used. Do you want to try to save changes?” 

I’ve tried the below with no success.

Enable the DraftSight option: Use Dashed Entity Selection Highlighting
• Start DraftSight
• Select Tools > Options > Systems Options > Display > Element Colors
• Enable the option : Use Dashed Entity Selection Highlighting
• Click Apply
• Exit and restart DraftSight

Use compatibility mode:
• Right click on the DraftSight shortcut on the Windows Desktop. 
• Select 'Properties'. 
• Select the tab called 'Compatibility'. 
• Select the check box 'Run this program in Compatibility mode for:' and select 'Windows 7' from the list. 
• Click OK
• Use the shortcut to start DraftSight.
