1. Modeling Advice

My validated answer:

Hi there, it looks like an amazing assignment. One thing you have to take into consideration is that advice is a preference. I would make a top-down sketch shown in the left view. This makes sure the shape of your flange is perfect. After extruding it for 0.5 inches, I would create another sketch on the top face with a circle with a diameter of 2.5 inches. And extrude it 1.5. From this, you can easily add other features. If I could give you a tip, I would always (if possible) make your part from the centre axis so you can easily mirror or revolve any features. In this case, you can also make the half of the mounting bracket and mirror it over. This would only be beneficial for the flange part. I hope this helped out :)

8. Why do you want to apply for the champions program? Write in your own words.

I understand that my application for the champions program may be considered, and I would like to express my keen interest in specializing in using Dassault Systems' programs, which are commonly used in the rocketry and aerospace sector for CAD. I aim to gain as much knowledge as possible through non-curricular activities and make myself stand out while acquiring the skills necessary to pursue a successful career in the aerospace industry. I have been using CATIA v5 for two years and am now expanding my knowledge to 3dexperience. The Champions program will be a valuable tool for me as it provides access to the full arsenal of apps that Dassault Systems offers. The composites design app, in particular, was an enjoyable and helpful new app I learned from Dassault Systems. I am passionate about creating 3D designs, and this program would give me access to several valuable learning activities that would enhance my skills and knowledge.

9. How do you want to contribute to the community?

I am keen to contribute meaningfully to the community by sharing informative posts about ongoing projects I am working on. As the current head of the structural department of the student rocket team AQUILO, we have been using the composites design app to explore the various programs that Dassault Systems offers to optimise and professionalise old methods, such as our current project of optimising the manufacturing method for the composites nose cone. I would also be delighted to represent Dassault Systems by attending events, particularly in the Netherlands, to demonstrate the value of learning and working with Dassault Systems. Additionally, I am passionate about discussing topics such as simulations and non-linear solver simulations of real-life engineering problems, preferably related to rocketry, and the optimization of designs using the functional generative design app.
