Writing Macros to Automate Key Workflows at a Startup - CCS694532

It’s easy to get bogged down by repetitive workflows. While automation tools exist, let’s face it: As a startup, if they cost money, they simply aren’t options. Sometimes it can feel like the only option is to push through these repetitive workflows. We’ve all heard of “Macros”, but maybe the knowledge barrier is too intimidating. We’re here to share our experience with you about how writing a few strategic macros which automated several repetitive data-entry tasks. One member of our team, Evan, will talk about his experience identifying workflows that could be automated, and the resources he explored to compile and write these critical low-cost automation tools for Square Robot. The aim of this talk is to give users who are interested in writing macros and scripts in visual basic using the SOLIDWORKS API, but may not have software backgrounds, the confidence and resources to write their own simple macros which can automate a workflow.
