Session Abstract
From science fiction to simulation, this presentation explores how modern electromagnetic tools can be applied to the iconic TIE Fighter. By virtually installing an antenna on the spacecraft and analyzing its radar cross section (RCS), we demonstrate how stealth performance can be optimized through advanced modeling. The study highlights the impact of antenna placement, geometry, and material properties on electromagnetic visibility, offering insights into how real-world aerospace platforms are designed for reduced detectability. Beyond the entertainment factor, this exercise showcases the power of simulation to turn creative concepts into engineering insights, bridging imagination with innovation.
