Have you ever needed to run a custom search for files that have been checked out longer than a week, have duplicate names, or are missing critical information like part numbers? The SOLIDWORKS PDM Report Generator utilizes SQL queries as a powerful way to provide a list of components that can meet these search requirements and virtually any other criteria. The challenge then becomes how to make the results from that report actionable within SOLIDWORKS PDM. In this presentation, we will look at the basics of labels, what they are, and how to apply them. Then, we will demonstrate how to use SQL queries to add labels to components, which can then be searched for in SOLIDWORKS PDM, allowing users to take action from within the SOLIDWORKS PDM search results like updating data cards and checking in files.
