Session Abstract

I want to talk about how, in my company, I am using Dassault Systèmes software (xApps, SOLIDWORKS, and DELMIA NC Shop Floor Programmer) to build almost everything as it moves from a design to a manufactured object. These solutions enable me to have an effective workflow for each step. From xApps for quick prototyping, using SOLIDWORKS for more complex assembly for furniture design, and then using DELMIA as a CAM to machine parts. Being a professional maker, we need to be able to use a lot of different machines, CNC or manually controlled, modern tools (3D Printers/CNC) to more traditional ones (lathe), as we deal with other materials (wood, metal, silicone, resin) Having software that can help you design shapes, do precise assembly, make blueprints or create toolpaths for CNC is essential for our line of work. Using them to have a virtual twin of the objects you need to make as simple and basic as possible helps with speed, quality, and consistency of production.
