High Speed Electronics - Challenges & Solutions - PBBP693308

From home to work place and when we travel, we rely on electronics for information, communication, productivity, entertainment and computing. Less visibly, electronics is increasingly running vehicles, factories and managing our data. A common thread for all of these systems is the need to be reliably connected - often at high data rates. Data channels, PCBs and electronics systems must be able to handle this high speed data, without signal or power degradation, or generation of interference. Systems must pass regulatory requirements in order to be sold in certain geos and they must also be protected against external threats like electro-static discharge. These KPIs can be very challenging to meet in fast paced development cycles and failure can be disastrous. In this presentation, we’ll look at the technical challenges created by high speed electronics and how the virtual twin approach can successfully explore, understand and mitigate high speed PCB and electronics problems.

Emmanuel Leroux got a PhD in Electronics from Lille University / Politecnico di Torino. After a first experience as PCB Signal Integrity Application Engineer, he joined in 2000 Computer Simulation Technology (CST), in Darmstadt, as an Application Engineer. In 2001, he opened the CST office in Italy and from 2005 was CST Country Manager for Italy, Israel, Turkey, responsible for Sales, Support and Marketing pushing Electromagnetic Design/Simulation/Optimization 3D Software CST STUDIO. After the acquisition of CST by Dassault Systèmes, he led the SIMULIA Brand Center of Excellence team in the Southeast Mediterranean cluster expanding also on other domains like Structural Analysis, CFD, Noise and Vibration. He was the SIMULIA GEO Sales Leader for this area both for direct and indirect Sales from 2018. In 2021, he joined SOLIDWORKS team as WW Industry Process Consultant Director. Emmanuel is supporting, with his team, the launch of Electromagnetism business within CRE channel with CST Studio Suite and Electromagnetics Engineer role on 3DEXPERIENCE Works.
