Session Abstract
SOLIDWORKS Electrical Schematic lets you document your electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and P&ID designs. In contrast, Electrical 3D allows you to connect a SOLIDWORKS assembly to an electrical project, allowing electrical and mechanical teams to collaborate in real time. CATIA users can also use this solution through their cloud-connected versions (ESX and E3D), available on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. This session will educate users on best practices around the setup of Schematic and Electrical 3D libraries to allow seamless bidirectional communication. Learn about wire styles in schematic and settings that affect automated wire and cable routing in Electrical 3D. We’ll share tips and tricks around manufacturer part creation and 3D models set up for electrical routing. We will also cover integrating manufacturer parts and additional symbols from the online Electrical Content Portal. Finally best practices around custom schematic and cabinet layout symbols will be discussed.
