This presentation takes a look at a customer case study where the part modeling and assembly techniques went wrong. Using tools available inside every version of SOLIDWORKS, we will identify where the issues are and how to correct them. Once the issues have been corrected, we will look at how much performance can be gained. Over the years as support technicians, we have seen our share of problems with files. The data set we will look at has more than it’s fair share of issues. During this session, we will roll up our sleeves and pick apart a production SOLIDWORKS assembly and rework it. Step by step we will gain the knowledge of where to look for performance problems with processes you can apply to your own assemblies.
Speakers
Bryan Pawlak
Sr. Application Engineer, Strategic Solutions, CATI
Bryan Pawlak has been an Elite Application Engineer in the reseller channel since 2006 and has presented for many years at 3DExpereince World. Over the last 5 years, he has spent an extensive amount of time running more than 125,000 benchmarks on the best hardware the market has to offer. Over the last several years, he has built up relationships with several hardware vendors and with key SOLIDWORKS technical personnel. Bryan continues to publish blog articles, whitepapers, videos, and webinars to educate the SOLIDWORKS community about the importance of selecting the correct hardware to maximize performance.
In-between all the testing, Bryan spends much of his time analyzing and troubleshooting large assembly performance issues. This work has gone hand in hand with the benchmarking since model practices effect SOLIDWORKS performance just as much as the hardware does.
Bryan has also worked on administrative images since 2012 when he gave his first SOLIDWORKS world presentation on the topic. Over the last decade, he has become a company expert and continues to train techs and customers alike. He has also developed strong relationships with the SOLIDWORKS technical staff and product definition team to help strengthen the administrative image tools.
