Session Abstract

New designs for industrial equipment must balance a range of competing requirements. The new equipment must meet strict safety, environmental, and operational requirements. Additional challenges can arise from compliance with regulatory standards, integration of new technologies, and ensuring manufacturability. Understanding the equipment performance early in the design phase – as accomplished through simulation – can identify ways to improve the design and help prevent costly surprises after physical prototyping begins. The Fluid Dynamics Engineer role on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform enables simulation of fluid and thermal phenomena, including optimizing flow distribution, ensuring effective thermal management, and minimizing pressure losses. In this presentation, we’ll highlight the power of Fluid Dynamics Engineer to quickly compute KPIs for industrial equipment designs, supporting the development of centrifugal pumps, valves, heat exchangers, mixing devices, and similar equipment.
