Starting with SOLIDWORKS 2020, we have a new Rendering pipeline optimized for modern graphics cards (GPU) supporting OpenGL 4.5 and higher. To take full advantage of this, the type of GPU, amount of VRAM and driver version needs to be correct. Too many users disable that setting at the first sign of regression, or bad experience with earlier versions. There has been a lot of work in 2024 to make this new pipeline robust and trouble free. Please give it a second chance if your hardware is adequate. Also enjoy new Silhouette edge acceleration in 2024, only available in that mode.
